Biography [Richard Wright]
The character I am writing abut is Richard Wright. I am writing about him because I have never heard of him before and it would be interesting to learn about someone new. Richard Wright was born on a Mississippi in 1908. As Richard was growing up, his father deserted him and his mother became very ill which brought him and his brothers to an orphanage. Richard did not have proper schooling up to the age of twelve, and by that time he reached the ninth grade, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he began writing. Richard was always poor and almost always hungry, and his suffering from things made it hard for him in school because he was lacking books. Richard was a hard working person who tried to make it in life and cared for others. After he moved to Chicago his career began because he became involved in radical politics, and in a short time he joined the communist party and began writing for leftist magazines. By the time he lefted New York he had begun Uncle Tom’s children. Richards caring personality led him to a successful career because he stuck up for what in and he loved what accomplished. When Richard was young he knew that he wanted to become a successful writer and make a change throughout society. He prepared for his future by moving to Tennessee and pursuing a writing career when he was about fourteen or fifteen. His contributions was important because he was the first African American to be chosen for the book-of-the-Month club, and his story the Black Boy became a bestseller. He changed the world by being the first African American to be nominated for a book. What you should know about Richard Wright is that he is a amazing writer who never puts anyone down. The most impressive thing that I learned from him is that when he was in ninth grade he traveled to Tennessee to become a writer. In ninth grade the only thing I was worried about was books and the next grade, and for him to travel to Tennessee at a young age is incredible because he was young at the time. Richard has inspired me to try to strive for bigger things in life and have a open mind. If I could be like him then I would just try tot ravel around the world.
